The Banke District Court has slapped a prison term of 34 years along with Rs 100,000 each in fine and compensation on a 40-year-old man of Tarataal-1, Bardiya for raping his own daughter.
A single bench of judge Hari Pratap KC found the man guilty on all three charges leveled against him. He was sentenced the man to 16 years in prison for human trafficking, eight for rape and 10 for incest.
In her statement to
police, the victim has accused her father, a migrant worker in India, of raping her at a hotel in Lucknow when they had gone to visit an ophthalmologist. She said she was raped repeatedly over four months since May until she gathered courage to tell her mother, a migrant worker in Kuwait, about her predicament.
The victim’s mother then reached India and lured her husband into Nepal. She registered a case with police, leading to his arrest.
