Banda called by FDRA is against people's aspiration and wish
Vice President of the Nepali Congress Ram Chandra Poudel has said that the banda enforced by the FDRA led by the UCPN (Maoist) was against the aspiration and wish of the Nepali people.
Vice President of the Nepali Congress Ram Chandra Poudel has said that the banda (general strike) enforced by the Federal Democratic Republican Alliance (FDRA) led by the UCPN (Maoist) was against the aspiration and wish of the Nepali people.
Responding to a query after the meeting between top leaders of the Nepali Congress and CPN-UML, Poudel said that today's banda was against the new constitution and the Constituent Assembly (CA).
He said the UCPN (Maoist) has been obstructing the nation by calling banda which was an illegal act.
The NC Vice President asked the UCPN (Maoist) for whom the street agitation and boycott of the CA meeting was for.
Expressing suspicion whether attempts were made to thwart the CA, Poudel suggested all political parties to put forth their demands in the CA meeting, not in street.
Poudel said there was no meaning of calling banda today, the day to forge consensus on the disputed issues of the new constitution.
