The Political Dialogue and Consensus Committee report is scheduled to be tabled on today’s CA meet. Senior most member of the PDCC Surya Bahadur Thapa will present the report at the CA in absence of UCPN (Maoist) CA member and committee Chairman Baburam Bhattarai.
The lawmakers of UCPN (Maoist) and Madhesi parties had informed to remain absent in today’s CA meeting.
The opposition parties had demanded postponement of the CA meet citing that one of their supporters was killed during a clash with police at Janakpur in yesterday’s strike.
Meanwhile, PDCC Chairman Bhattarai submitted the committee report to CA Chairman Subash Chandra Nembang. Bhattarai informed Nembang that following the directives from the party he will not be attending today’s CA meet.
However, a leader close to Bhattarai, talking to eKantipur, said, “Chairman Bhattarai will not attend today’s meet because of the bandh.”
