The fourth largest party in the Constituent Assembly (CA) has decided to picket the CA building on Sunday with the support from various pro-Hindu groups. It has also announced to submit memorandum to CA Chairman Subas Nembang and Prime Minister Sushil Koirala, demanding Nepal be reinstated as a Hindu State in new constitution. The party has formed a central-level struggle committee under Vice-chairman Rajib Parajuli for the purpose.
The party has claimed the new constitution will not be promulgated on January 22 because of the incompetence of the major parties. According to party’s assistant spokesperson Mohan Shrestha, the protest was necessary as the major parties underestimated the RPP-N’s strength.
