Club campaigns against addiction
Lalupate Club, an organisation actively involved in raising awareness against addiction in the district, held a discussion at the premises of Ganesh Higher Secondary SchoolDuring the discussion, Gangi Rai of Lalupate Club asked students, their teachers and parents whether they know anyone in their community or locality who is suffering from one or other forms of addiction.
According to the chair of the club, Tilak Rai, the club aims to hold such discussions at least once a month by going to different schools in the district and raise awareness against the scourge of addiction existing in the society.
“The club is also ready to treat and rehabilitate anyone found suffering from addiction,” Rai said.
He further said that Lalupate Club is running this campaign with the help of Okhaldunga Community Hospital.
Saying that the club has till now successfully treated more than 200 addicts, Rai emphasised the need of such grassroots campaign and interventions to treat the problem of substance abuse and addiction in the society.
