The local brick kilns are dependent on Indian workers due to the lack of the skilled workers within the country, said Murari Regmi, an advisor to the Koshi Zone Brick Entrepreneurs' Association.
Mostly, the Indian workers visit the district for job during the season for brick making. There are around four dozens of brick kilns and each of the industries employs 250-300 workers.
The workers, especially from Bengal area of India, arrive in the districts from October to April for the time is considered good for brick production.
A person earns around Rs 65,000 on average in a season, Regmi added.
