International cyber security conference to start Feb 19
The CISCO International Conference on Cyber Security and Cyber Law 2015 is scheduled to be held in Kathmandu from February 19-21.The three-day gathering will discuss eight different topics and feature 16 experts from the international
market specialised in their respective areas.
The subjects are Cyber Crime and Cyber Law, Incident Handling, Digital Forensic Techniques, Tools and Law, Fraud on Financial Inclusion and Payment Instrument, Sexual Abuse of Children on Internet and Security Standards, E-governance and Secured IT Infrastructure, Certifications on Information Security and New Threats on Information Security.
“The conference topics will be relevant for Nepal,” said Rajan Raj Pant, chairman of ITSERT-NP. “Eminent speakers from several countries will be delivering speeches during the event,” he added.
The prospective speakers at the programme include representatives from CISCO, USA, ICANN, Australia, Intel Security, India, MyCert, Malaysia, Pyramid Cyber Forensic, India, Oracle, Singapore, Kaspersky Lab, Japan Office, PineApp, Israel and USA, Safe Net, India and several IT outfits from Nepal.
Kaspersky Lab will be presenting a live demonstration of a case study of Nepali websites including government, university and business sites. Similarly, PineApp will be highlighting cloud security.
Narayan Neupane, general secretary of ITSERT-NP, said that the first day of the event would feature a networking session while there would be conferences on the next two days featuring four tracks daily. According to Neupane, the programme aims to empower and encourage participation in understanding cyber security, and is directed at government offices, financial institutions, internet service providers, INGOs and NGOs, ICT professionals, academicians, students, lawyers and security professionals, among others.
The organizer has fixed the entry fee at Rs 5,000 for students, Rs 15,000 for professionals, Rs 25,000 for two participants from corporate houses and Rs 5,000 for ITSERT-NP members.
