No trust-worthy commitment yet from govt side: Dahal
UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that the process for talks could not move ahead as PM Koirala has not expressed any commitment on scrapping the majority process.Addressing a prgramme organised to training the party cadres in Lalitpur on Monday, Dahal stressed that the leaders of Nepali Congress and CPN-UML have to show pro-active role as shown by the Prime Minister for talks.
He said they are ready for talks if the ruling parties express truth-worthy commitment to give momentum to the constitution writing process through consensus by stopping the majority process.
Chairman Dahal said the agitation is the compulsion of the opposition parties. He said the statements of the ruling parties are not in favour of the country and people.
He argued that the UCPN (M) has been struggling in favour of the country and people rather than power and post.
"We will fight for the country and people till the last hour. Power and post are the secondary issues. People's right is the main issue," said Dahal.
He also urged the ruling parties not to doubt people's mandate as vote count, He said the 12-point agreement, Interim Comprehensive Accord and agreement signed with different ethnic groups are the basis of constitution writing.
The UCPN (Maoist) chairman also directed the party's leaders and cadres to actively participate in the protest programme scheduled for February 28.
Similarly, Chairman of the All Nepal Trade Union Federation, Shalikram Jamarkattel said the agitation is indispensible to establish the rights of labourers.
