A press release issued by the protest committee today stated that the protest and strike has been called off for now as different state bodies expressed their commitment to address the protesters' demands through dialogues, keeping in mind the possibility of destruction of properties.
The committee has further decided to send in a delegation to the Office of the Prime Minister for talks.
Vehicular movement is limping back to normality at Pathlaiya-Birgunj highway and market place and schools have also started operating after the postponement of the protest.
“On one hand the state has committed to address our demands but on the other hand local police administration has been using violent force, hence we have decided to change the face of our protest,” said committee member, Krishna Poudel, “The main highway connecting to the Capital has been affected along with peace and security, therefore, we will begin a struggle to address out demands through pressure and talks.”
