Smartphones slated to launch this week
A number of new smartphones are set to arrive in the domestic market this week. Microsoft, Colors, Fly and Wyncomm, among other brands, have planned to roll out their latest devices.Teletalk Nepal has planned to launch the Colors X Factor X118 Flash and X Factor X135 Flash HD next week. According to the company, the phone’s highlights include a 3.2 mega pixel front facing camera and an 8 mega pixel rear camera. Both the cameras feature flash light. The phone is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad core processor and has a 4.5-inch touchscreen.
Other specifications of the phone are 1 GB RAM, 8 GB ROM, 1,650 mAh battery and Android Kitkat 4.4 Operating System (OS). It also features GPS, G-sensor
and proximity sensor. According to the company, the X 118 Flash will cost around Rs 15,000 in the domestic market.
Similarly, the Colors X135, the phone considered to be selfie-friendly, is equipped with a 5 mega pixel front camera and a 13 mega pixel rear camera with flash. The phone comes with a 4.7-inch HD IPS. Other features are Quad-core 1.3 GHz processor, 8 GB ROM, 1 GB RAM and 1,800 mAh battery. Teletalk has stated that the phone will be available in the range of Rs 15,000 to Rs 17,000.
Meanwhile, Paramount Electronics, the authorised distributor of Microsoft in Nepal, has planned to launch two new affordable Windows phones, the Lumia 435 and 532. Both the phones are powered by Microsoft’s proprietary Windows 8.1 OS and can be upgraded to Windows 10 online by the end of July this year.
The 435 has a 4-inch screen, 1.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 200 processor with 1 GB RAM. It comes with 8 GB internal storage and microSD card support for up to 128 GB.
The two phones share many of the specifications, but the Lumia 435 is equipped with a 2 mega pixel rear camera while the 532 has a 5 mega pixel rear camera. Both the phones are powered by a 1,560 mAh battery. According to the company, the Lumia 435 will cost Rs 9,925 and the Lumia 532 will have a price tag of Rs 11,745.
Similarly, Prisma Technology, the authorised distributor of Fly and Wyncomm mobiles in Nepal, will be rolling out the Fly Swift and Wyncomm Mega next week. Both the phones will be available at Rs 11,900 and many of the features will be identical.
The Fly Swift has a 5-inch screen and is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad core processor and runs on Android Kitkat 4.4 OS.
