Six members of a family died and 20 others have been taken ill apparently after eating poison-laced chapattis at Pida-8 of Tukun in Dhading district on Sunday.

Sanja Bahadur Sangtan, 62, his daughter-in-law Phulmaya Sangtan, 28, seven-year-old granddaughter Sabita, grandsons Ramesh,5, Anil,2, Arjun,5, were killed. Two others have not been identified.

The tragedy struck the Syangtang family when they ate chapattis made by grinding the wheat that was preserved as seeds.

Police have been investigating the incident.
