Baidya, Dahal absent at joint programme
A joint programme of the two Maoist parties—UCPN (Maoist) and CPN-Maoist— who took initiatives for the party unification, is underway.Ekantipur Report
Earlier, it was decided that top leaders from both the parties will address the programme. The second rung leaders from both the parties are present in the programme, titled ‘Maobadi Andolan Punargathan Abhiyan’ (Maoist Movement Restructuring Campaign), being held at the Academy hall in Kamaladi today.
UCPN (M) leader Agni Sapkota said the meeting will make public the future working strategy and joint protest programmes.
Leaders Janardan Sharma, Hitman Shakya, Nanda Kishore Pun, Pampha Bhusal, Agni Sapkota, Hisila Yami are present in the programme. Likewise, Dharmendra Bastola from Netra Bikram Chand-led CPN Maoist and Matrika Yadav are also present in the programme.
The two Maoist parties have formed a high-level talk team for the unification process after two years and nine months since their split.
Meanwhile, Both the Maoist parties had warned of launching a joint agitation against the verdict of Supreme Court that ruled against giving amnesty to those charged with war crimes.
