A meeting of the committee on Sunday decided to seek updates from the anti-graft body’s decision regarding investigation into Thapa’s case. “Media reports say Thapa’s case has been put on hold. But, as initiator of this case, we are not still informed about the matter. That’s why we want updates from them [CIAA],” PAC member Ramhari Khatiwada said, adding, “If reports are true, we are planning to summon them before the Parliament.”
On February 19, the CIAA had informed that Thapa’s case was put on hold due to lack of enough evidence. The parliamentary committee, however, is not convinced with the CIAA statement.
