Twenty five passengers have been injured in the accident, police said.
A Kakadvitta-bound passenger bus (Na 4 Kha 6975) from Kathmandu and another bus (Na 4 Kha 3849) owned by Munal Travels heading for Bhairahawa from Kakadvitta collided.
According to eyewitnesses, the accident occurred when Kakadvitta-bound bus belonging to Ujyalo Travels tried to overtake a van (Sa 1 Ja 262) leading to the collision.
The deceased have been identified as the bus driver of Ujyalo Travels, Rohit Kumar Bhujel, 35, of Bara, and a passenger, Surendra Rai, 35, of Siliguri, India.
