Hyundai, Honda to roll out facelifted vehicles
Dealers of Hyundai and Honda are planning to launch two facelifted vehicles in the domestic market this month.Laxmi Intercontinental, the authorised distributor of Hyundai in Nepal, is all set to introduce the new 4S Fluidic Verna in the next two weeks. The new Verna comes with stylish front and back bumpers, inverted L shaped fog lamps, projector head lamps, wing shaped front grille, sporty alloy wheels and dual tone bumper.
Regarding the interior, the vehicle is equipped with a new music system with 1 GB internal storage, smart key, power window controls with illumination, multi function steering wheel, rear seat armrest with cup holder and sun glass holder and tilt adjustable driver seat.
On the safety aspect, the new Verna features anti-lock braking system with EBD, reverse parking sensors, front disk brakes, anti-pinch power windows and headlamp escort function.
The vehicle has impact sensing door unlock/speed sensing door lock that unlocks the doors automatically during collisions and locks them during high speeds. The top-end model comes with six air bags.
The automobiles are powered by 1.4-litre petrol and 1.6-litre diesel engines. The engines are mated with five-speed and six-speed manual transmissions.
The Verna facelift will be competing with the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and the Honda City. The company is yet to fix its price. “Since the launch of the Verna in 2011, the sedan has been selling well in the domestic market, and we hope that the facelifted Verna will do well too,” said Rupesh Sharma Bhatta, assistance general manager, sales and marketing at the company.
Similarly, Honda’s authorised distributor Syakar Trading has planned to bring out the CR-V facelift compact SUV by mid-April. Lomus Manandhar, manager of the cars division at Syakar, said that the compact SUV would have a starting price of Rs9.5 million. It will be imported from Thailand.
The new Honda CR-V will come with a newly styled front grille and daylight headlamps. According to the company, it also features new bumpers, LED tail-lights, skid guards, four air bags, anti-lock braking system and new alloy wheels.
Regarding the interior, the CR-V features a new infotainment system with a 7-inch touchscreen that allows users to pair their smartphones via Bluetooth. The facelift also has dual zone climate control. The CR-V will come with 2-litre and 2.4 litre engine options.
