Sellers introduce New Year schemes, offers
With the Nepali New Year around the corner, consumer electronics and automobile dealers are seeing a good opportunity to boost sales by launching various schemes.Suman Bashyal
Syakar Trading, authorised distributor of Honda in Nepal, has launched a consumer scheme under which customers get cash discounts from Rs4,000 to Rs100,000 through a scratch card. The company also offers a Rs100,000 cash prize through a weekly lucky draw.
HH Bajaj has started a scheme named Bajaj Note ko Bot under which customers get cash discounts from Rs7,000 to Rs100,000 through a scratch card. Besides, it also offers equal monthly instalment (EMI) payment options with a 20 percent down payment.
Likewise, MAW Enterprises, the authorised distributor of Yamaha, offers a gold chain daily and cash discounts of up to Rs100,000 along with EMI options with a 20 percent down payment.
SG Global, the authorised distributor of Mahindra two-wheelers, offers Rs10,000 cash back on purchase of its bikes and scooters. CG MotoCorp, the authorised distributor of TVS, offers cash discounts of up to Rs100,000. The company is also giving away an Intex mobile worth Rs15,000 on purchase of TVS bikes and scooters.
Similarly, VG Automobiles, the authorised distributor of Suzuki in Nepal, has launched a plan entitled New Year Bash, Win Bike and Cash under which the company offers a cash discount of Rs10,000 and Suzuki bikes through a lucky draw.
Hero’s authorised distributor Nepal General Marketing has planned to launch a consumer scheme offering cash prizes of Rs5,000 to Rs100,000 on purchase of Hero bikes. “Many customers want to buy new things during the New Year, and they wait for such schemes. So almost all the dealers have come up with various schemes,” said Dinesh Ratna Bajracharya, head of the Hero division at company. The company expects 15 percent growth in sales during the scheme period which will run for one and a half months.
Laxmi Intercontinental, the authorised distributor of Hyundai, has come up with a discount offer ranging from Rs20,000 to Rs72,000. “There has been a slowdown in sales in the last few months, but we hope that this scheme will help to energise the market,” said Rupesh Sharma Bhatta, assistant general manager of sales and marketing at Laxmi.
Similarly, mobile dealers have introduced various schemes to capitalize on the spending spree during the New Year. Gadgets Nepal, dealer of Bird mobiles, offers LED TV, laptop, mobile and T-shirt on purchase of its sets. Home-grown mobile brand Colors has extended its Holi offer till the New Year. Under this plan, the company has been providing cash prizes of up to Rs100,000.
CG Electronics, the authorised distributor of LG in Nepal, has launched its Biggest Cash Back and Premium Gifts offer under which customers can win up to Rs600,000 in cash prizes on purchase of various electronic items like televisions, home theatres, refrigerators and washing machines. Moreover, the company offers a free LG home theatre, 1+1 year warranty, LG pocket photo printer, CG fan heater, cooking kit and free installation.
Sanjay Rajbhandari, deputy general manager of the company said that they were also planning to roll out a scheme for TCL, Godrej and CG brands to add value for customers during the New Year.
