The Duke of Cambridge, who arrived at the Nepali embassy without security convoy, enquired about assistance being given by international community for the relief and rehabilitation of the victims.
Upon entering the embassy, William greeted the embassy officials in Nepal. “Namaste I am William,” said the British prince. He was welcomed by acting Nepali ambassador Tej Bahadur Chhetri. But he humbly declined to accept the offer for breakfast, saying he just had had it with his son.
He expressed his sadness for the loss of lives and property in the deadly earthquake in Nepal.
Later he signed a book of condolence at the embassy this morning to pay his respects to the dead, bereaved and homeless.
“With my deepest condolences to the people of Nepal and my thoughts and prayers to all those affected,” he wrote in the condolence book.
