An earthquake measuring 3.8 on the Richter scale was recorded with the epicentre around the Kathmandu-Nuwakot border area at 5.24 pm. A powerful jolt was felt in the Capital city as the epicentre was very close to it.
Centre's technician Umesh Prasad Gautam said it was not necessary to panic as the three magnitude earthquake, recorded dozens of times, would not cause any damage.
According to the Centre, the epicenter of many earthquakes to jolt the Capital had their epicenter at Nuwakot. A 4.4 magnitude earthquake was recorded at 3.40 pm with epicenter at Sindhupalchowk district.
From 4.54 am to 5.25 am, four earthquakes were recorded in Dolakha, Gorkha and Nuwakot with epicentres at Nuwakot and Rasuwa. Another 4.2 Richter scale earthquake was recorded at 4.54 am with epicenter at Sindhupalchowk. RSS
