KMC lift DCL trophy
Kailali Multiple Campus (KMC) defeated defending champions New Srijanshil Youth Club of Attariya by three wickets to claim the Dhangadi Cricket League (DCL) titleThe winners donated 10 per cent of their Rs 30,000 cash prize to those affected by the 7.9 magnitude earthquake on April 25 that has so far killed more than 7,000 people. Srijanshil also donated Rs 5,000 out of their Rs 15,000 cash money to Dream Fapla—a stadium construction campaign run in the Far-west city.
In the match, No 8 batsman Puran Thapa rescued Srijanshil from a collapse smashing 49 off 26 pushing the team to 131 all out in 20 overs. KMC overhauled the target in 19.3 overs. Bhuwan KC picked up five wickets in Srijanshil’s defence but in vain after man-of-the-final Raju Rijal top scored with 35 runs.
Earlier, Thapa clobbered five boundaries and three sixes in his whirlwind knock. Kamal Raj Joshi was named the player of the tournament for pikcing up 21 wickets and making 79 runs.
