Ospreys useless, 4 more planes due to arrive from US
The four V-22 Ospreys of US Air Force that arrived in Nepal on Sunday to faciliate the distribution of relief have not been able to carry out the rescue and relief operations effectively.Ekantipur Report
So far, only one Osprey has transported 300 kg of relief package to Charikot—the district headquarters of Dolakha. Another Osprey carrying equal amount of relief to Charikot had to return after it blew off the roof of a house. Since then, no other Ospreys have taken flights for relief distribution.
It has been learnt that four C-17 planes of US Air Force are due to arrive in Nepal on Tuesday to help cope with the aftermath of the deadly earthquake. The C-17 plane that arrived on Sunday brought helicopters while the additional C-17 planes arriving today will bring relief.
Likesie, 14 C-130 planes of various countries are likely to arrive in Nepal today. US, China, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, among other countries, are sending their C-130 planes.
Chinese MI-17 not yet arrived
Four MI-17 helicopters that were scheduled to arrive from China on Tuesday have not yet arrived.
The MI-17 of Nepal Army is under maintenance while two ALH are also under routine scrutiny for having completed 100 hours of flight, informed Nepal Army Air Service Directorate.
