Over 741 households suffering minor damages, however, did not receive any kind of compensation.
Of the total distributed sum, the government had provided around Rs 1.9 million while the remaining was collected by the locals.
The DDMC has stated that they will be providing an additional Rs2,000 each, collected from the locals, along with Rs3,000 provided by the government to households suffering partial damage with room for repair.
“As relief distribution has gained momentum, we intend to provide relief in the first phase to the victims by Tuesday,” said Chief District Officer Tek Bahadur KC who is coordinating the relief programme, adding that geographic remoteness had posed a major hindrance in damage assessment and relief distribution.
