The NSU filed cases related to cyber crime at the Crime Investigation Division of Nepal Police at Hanumandhoka on Wednesday against the Nepalpati online chairman Yubraj Karki, managing director Sarita Niraula and editor Prem Gautam, and against Jhilko online editor Sita Adhikari and managing director Prakash Lamichhane, NSU spokesman UP Lamichhane said.
Lamichhane said the Nepalpati had on May 4 carried news titled 'NSU in police net while selling tarpaulin sheets donated by foreigners', while the Jhilko online on April 29 and 30 news titled 'Even tarpaulin sheets received in aid sold'.
Alleging the two online sites of disseminating the news with the intention of tarnishing the image of NSU, Lamichhane challenged them to show the evidence proving the news they carried is true. The NSU is the student wing of the Nepali Congress. RSS
