Damauli youth arrange relief for quake victims in the district
A group of 37 Damauli youths have come together to provide the victims of the earthquake in the district with corrugated iron sheets, cement and food.bookmarkA group of 37 Damauli youths have come together to provide the victims of the earthquake in the district with corrugated iron sheets, cement and food. They have collected more than Rs 300,000 among themselves to help the quake victims in rural parts of the district, especially those in Baidi, Bhirkot and Farakchaur. Local businessman Mohankrishna Shrestha said that they have provided Rs 10,000 worth of relief materials to numerous households.

“We decided to come together to fulfill our social responsibility. We have been identifying the victims and providing them with whatever relief we can,” said Shrestha.
Tek Bahadur BK, a resident of ward number 4, Byas municipality, who lost his home to the disaster, said that he was delighted to see a group of young volunteers come to him with food, water and corrugated iron sheets at the time of crisis. “I couldn’t hold back my tears on seeing a group of people coming to me with food, water and other necessities,” BK said with a smile.
