Even as the people were struggling to cope with the aftermath of the Great Earthquake of April 25, life in Bhaktapur has been further crippled after the 7.3 magnitude quake jolted on Tuesday further adding to the woes of already troubled victims.
A concrete house in Sallaghari, Bhaktapur collapsed in today’s quake. Similarly, Purushottam Prajapati, whose house had sustained cracks in April 25 quake, had returned to his house after living some days in tents. However, his house made in 2044 BS could no longer withstand today’s jolt and collapsed. He, along with his family, has now shifted to Red Cross’s camps.
People have started flocking to the tents set up by Red Cross at Suryabinayak and Byasi Road section. Similarly, a German run temporary hospital at Byasi has been flooded with patients injured by today’s quake.
