“The recent earthquakes have maimed our country and we are traumatised,” said Deuba,
“Now we should prepare ourselves to confront the earthquake by forgetting our miseries.”
Deuba, who arrived here in the district to inspect the aftermath of earthquake, told reporters that all the political parties must move ahead in unison.
“A mechanism should be developed to deal with the catastrophes like earthquake in 24 to 48 hours in the coming days,” Deuba said.
Saying that the April 25 earthquake and its subsequent aftershocks have ravaged the country, Deuba said, “It will take years to recover from such damages.”
Deuba mentioned that during inspection he found the earthquake victims have not yet been provided with shelter and relief. “We will put pressure on the government to arrange food and shelter to the victims,” he said.
Responding to query on the formation of national consensus government, Deuba said, “I am here to talk about earthquake not the new government. Prime Minister Sushil Koirala should be asked about forming national government.”
