According to the FIFA ranking made public on Thursday, Nepal is ranked in 183rd position from the 181st while neighboring India climbed up six notches and reached in the 141st position. With this, India tops all other countries in South Asia in the ranking.

Afghanistan which was on the top in the ranking in South Asia last month has slid 16 steps to the 151st place. Likewise, Bhutan has climbed four places to reach the 159th position, Bangladesh three places to reach the 166th position and Pakistan three steps to reach the 170th position.

The Maldives however fell down 38 notches to reach the 177th position while Sri Lanka has climbed two steps to the 186th position. But it is still at the bottom among all the South Asian countries.

The world champion Germany has retained its first rank while Belgium has climbed up to the second place. However, the runner-up Argentina has slid to the third position. Colombia and Brazil remain in their previous positions of forth and fifth respectively.

Likewise, the Netherlands, Portugal, Uruguy, France and Spain are placed in the sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth rank respectively.
