Lal Bahadur Gurung of Barpak village, who had left for Chitwan on May 23, said many families from Barpak, Panchkuwa, Deurali,Swara, Nareshwor, Ghyachhok and Muchhok had left Gorkha after hearing that the Netra Bikram Chand-led party, CPN Maoist, was settling the earthquake displaced families at Kailashnagar in Chitwan.
Gurung and the others returned on Wednesday. The local administration of Chitwan had arranged three vehicles to take them home.
Saraswoti Timalsina of Aarupokhari village said no one came to help them when they reached Chitwan.
Meanwhile, around 200 people, including children and the elderly, from various Gorkha villages are still in Chitwan. Gurung said they have rented rooms in Chitwan and are looking for jobs.
