Tata Motors rolls out Bolt hatchback
Tata Motors has launched the Bolt hatchback in the domestic market with a starting price of Rs2.39 million, ex-showroom Kathmandu.Speaking at the launch, Sujan Roy, regional head of South Asia, passenger vehicles business unit of Tata Motors, said, “With the aim of delivering the best to our customers, we are delighted to launch the much-awaited Bolt, a sporty hatchback. We expect it to strengthen our presence in Nepal’s hatchback market.”
The Bolt offers a global design and standards that will bring in new first time buyers and appeal equally to the existing auto users looking for an exciting product in this segment, he added.
“Designed and engineered by our teams across India, the UK and Italy, the Bolt is the next leap under our Horizon Next strategy, and represents the new DNA of our passenger vehicle business with the commitment to provide the best vehicles and experiences to excite our customers,” said Roy.
Similarly, Shambhu Dahal, chief executive officer of Sipradi Trading, the authorised distributor of Tata in Nepal, said that the feature-packed and fuel-efficient Bolt would be competitive in the domestic market. The company offers a four-year or 75,000-km warranty, whichever is earlier.
The Bolt will be available in five colour options including venetian red, pristine white, platinum silver, sky grey and dune beige. It will be available in three trims: XE, XM and XT. The petrol version of the Bolt is powered by 1.2 litre turbocharged multi-point fuel injection Revotron engine that provides a maximum power of 90 PS at 5,000 rpm and a peak torque of 140 Nm at 1500-4000 rpm.
The diesel variant comes with a Quadrajet 1.3 l engine, delivering 75 PS of power at 4,000 rpm and a torque of 190 Nm from 1,750 to 3,000 rpm.
The vehicle features Multi-Drive Mode technology that enables the customer to choose from three drive modes—Sport, Eco and City. The company claims that the petrol version of the Bolt delivers a mileage of 17.57 km per litre, while the diesel version delivers 22.95 km per litre. Other features of the Bolt include anti-lock braking system with electronic brake distribution, dual path suspension and HARMAN Infotainment system with eight speakers.
