Jul 27, 2015-
Chairman of Constituent Assembly (CA)’s Political Dialogue and Consensus Committee (PDCC), Baburam Bhattarai, has revealed that an understanding has been reached to promulgate the new constitution with demarcation of federal states.
At an interaction with Madhesi lawmakers, leaders and rights activists on Monday, Bhattarai informed that the CA is doing homework for delineation of federal states honouring the feedback provided by people during public opinion collection.
“Though a concrete agreement has been reached so far, but the serious preparations undertaken by the leaders have given me the feeling that the constitution will be promulgated with demarcation of federal units,” said leader Bhattarai. “There has also been agreement to amend the discriminatory and vague provision on citizenship. A concrete decision will be made very soon.”
