The traffic was halted for nearly 24 hours after a 32-metre long Iron Truss Bridge over the Jayashree stream caved in on Monday.
Chief Engineer at Western Regional Road Division Office, Butwal, Deepak Bhattarai, said currently they are allowing the east-bound vehicles to ply through the alternate road. “We have given first priority to the passenger buses to pass through the diversion. If it doesn’t rain, lorries will also be allowed to cross the stream overnight.”
