Panic-stricken people ran out to open spaces when the quake, whose epicentre was at Kalimati in Kathmandu, struck at 10:45 am.
National Seismological Center (NSC) informed that two minor quakes were also felt on Monday night. However, magnitudes of both the quakes were below 4.0, NSC said.
No reports of damage have been reported due to the quake.
The Centre has recorded 376 aftershocks above 4 on the Richter scale following the April 25 earthquake, also known as 'Gorkha Earthquake.
