The landslides which started in July have spread due to recent rains and mudslides.
Assistant Chief District Officer Chudaraj Bhattarai said they requested 40 families to leave the area immediately. He said the area is unsafe for settlement. The landslide-affected families said they are left in lurch as their houses have been destroyed. The landslides have also obstructed the Maldhunga-Beni road.
Meanwhile, in Gulmi, dozens of settlements are at risk of landslides due to the incessant rainfall. Ten households of Paudiamarahi have been displaced due to the threat of landslips, police said. In Hastichaur, four villages are also at the risk of landslides.
According to Police Inspector Ram Prasad Paudel, several houses have been damaged by landslides at Doholi, Paudiamarahi, Hastichaur, Sirseni and Kurgha. Gulmi CDO Chandra Prasad Gaire said they have provided relief materials to the landslide-hit families in the district.
