According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, water level was rising but below warning level in the major rivers until Friday morning.
Meanwhile, reports of landslides and floods are coming from various districts.
The development of low pressure system bearing monsoon rains has been active throughout this week bringing moderate to heavy rains across the country, particularly in the Eastern and Central regions.
A special weather bulletin released by Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) on Friday morning stated that the monsoon bearing system is getting active in hilly regions. “The weather will be cloudy throughout the country, mostly in the Eastern and Central regions, with possibility of heavy rains at a few places in the Central region,” the MFD said, adding that the rainfall activity will continue until Saturday morning.
On Friday, all 20 meteorological stations across the country recorded rainfall, with Pokhara receiving highest rainfall at 107 millimeters followed by Simara, Okhaldhunga, Bhairahawa, Janakpur, Kathmandu, Birendranagar and Nepalgunj at 90.9, 84.8, 60.9, 56.8, 52.1, 52.1 and 35.5 millimeters, respectively.
