Chinese team meets Dahal, Baidya

The meeting focused on matters related to the ongoing constitution drafting process and the current political developments, according to UCPN (Maoist) General Secretary Krishna Bahadur Mahara. The delegation arrived in Kathmandu on Sunday on a three-day visit.
Assistant Minister Dou said China was willing to support the constitution drafting process as per Nepal's wish. In the meeting, discussions were also held about the ways to expand the cordial relations between the two parties, leader Mahara added.
The Chinese team also called on CPN-Maoist Chairman Mohan Baidya at the party headquarters in Buddhanagar in the afternoon. The two sides held discussion on contemporary political affairs as well as bilateral relations between the two parties.
According to party Vice-chairman CP Gajurel, Baidya urged the Chinese team to correct the recent trade agreement between China and India using Nepal's territory Lipu-Lekh as the transit point.
Gajurel said his party requested the Chinese side to continue its positive role of respecting Nepal's sovereignty, integrity and independence.
