Minister for Information and Communications and government spokesperson Dr Minendra Rijal said the DPM briefed the Cabinet about the latest incidents of demonstrations, clashes and violence following the delineation of provinces by the major political parties.
The Cabinet also discussed about forging consensus on the disputed issues of the constitution drafting process.
“Unfortunate incidents have taken place during demonstrations,” Dr Rijal said. “We evaluated the situation that have surfaced regarding the state delineation. However, we stressed that all problems should be addressed through dialogue.”
Sunday’s Cabinet meeting also decided to appoint Manjit Tamrakar and Govinda Sunar as members of the National Dalit Commission, while Bishwamani Gyawali was picked as executive director at the Solid Waste Management Technical Support Centre.
