A meeting of Central Security Committee chaired by Home Minister Bam Dev Gautam on Monday directed the concerned authority to mobilise Nepal Army in three districts—Sarlahi, Rautahat, and Kailali—if need be.
The committee meeting convened after Kailali clash gave the authority to the concerned chief district officers to mobilise army personnel in the view of the growing violence. Cheif of Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and Investigation Department were present at the meeting.
Security committee can take the decision regarding army mobilisation in certain places, though the Security Council should take the call for mobilising the army across the country.
The decision was taken after violence spiralled out of control in Malangwa of Sarlahi, Gaur of Rautahat and Tikapur of Kailali. The protests were ignited by the recent decision of major three political parties to federate the country into seven provinces.
