Laxmi Dutta Bhatta of Programme Monitoring and Evaluation Unit under the DoR told the Post on Thursday: “The problem is getting solved in few days. We have completed all process to call tenders to enhance drainage capacity.” Another DoR official, Umesh Jha of Planning and Design Branch corroborated.
The drainage capacity of the Tinkune road section, which was built with Japanese assistance, is inadequate and needs overhauling for a long-term solution, technicians said. Earlier, the Prime Minister’s Office had directed the DoR to immediately clean gutters in the area that are clogged with dirt and to enhance the capacity of the existing system.
