NC central meet to begin Tuesday
The Nepali Congress (NC) is scheduled to hold its Central Working Committee (CWC) meeting from Tuesday (September 1).The Nepali Congress (NC) is scheduled to hold its Central Working Committee (CWC) meeting from Tuesday (September 1).
The NC CWC meet is taking place amid a growing confusion whether or not to hold the party's coming 13th general convention in the slated time.
The meeting will hold discussions on the issues such as constitution-drafting, ongoing Terai-Madhes unrest stemming from fresh demarcation of boundaries, upcoming 13th general convention and response to clarification sought from Constituent Assembly (CA) member Amresh Kumar Singh.
Apparently, the NC has not made any serious preparation towards holding its 13th general convention which was earlier scheduled for 19-22 September following the election of the party’s village, town and ward committees. NC sources said the party has to put in its entire efforts for promulgating a new constitution so that time limitation is likely to defer the conclave.
The party meeting which is taking place after an interval of around a month will be held at the Constituent Assembly (CA) at 8.00 am on Tuesday, informed NC central office chief secretary Rishikesh Tiwari. RSS
