Nepal consumed Rs 67m worth noodles, biscuits after quake

In the aftermath of quake, dry foods were distributed to the victims when they didn't have houses to live and their food items were buried under the rubble. According to the Ministry, a total of 118,000 cartons of noodles and 175 tonnnes of biscuits were distributed.
Ministry's spokesperson Yam Kumari Khatiwada said that the Industry Ministry purchased dry foods as given responsibility by the cabinet. "It is the government-distributed dry foods. It does not cover distribution made by non-government organizations and volunteers," she said.
The ministry had purchased the dry foods from Pokhara foods, Pashupati Biscuit Industries, Pashupati Diet and Food Private Limited, Karmacharya Bakes and Foods, Asian Biscuit and Confectionary, Smart Foods and Snacks, Pokhara Noodles and Jagadamba Foods.
