PM assures NHRC peaceful solution to current crisis

PM Koirala on Wednesday told the delegates of National Human Rights Commission that he has been trying his level best to resolve the crisis in a peaceful manner. Highlighting the need of negotiation for solution to the current crisis, Koirala said that he has been reaching out to the agitating groups for talks to address their concerns amicably.
NHRC Chairman Anup Raj Sharma-led team met the prime minister to brief about the rights situation and urged him to safeguard the fundamental rights of the public.
Sharma also urged PM Koirala to initiate talks with the disgruntled groups as early possible to maintain peace and guarantee public security.
The NHRC has been urging the protesters and security forces to exercise restraint. At least 23 protesters, including a two-year-old child, have died and hundreds others have been injured in course of protests in the past two weeks.
