This is the fourth Red Cross ambulance, along with several other ambulances operated by other service providers, to be attacked in the ongoing Madhes demonstration, according to a press release by the Nepal Red Cross Society and the International Committee of the Red Cross.
The Nepal Red Cross Society said they are extremely concerned about the recent violence. “They must be able to move unobstructed and securely at all times. The ambulance services being operated by other agencies should receive the same treatment. Any misuse of the Red Cross emblem must be prevented" said Dev RatnaDhakhwa, Secretary General of the NRCS.
