Transportation have been obstructed following a landslide near Khokse Khola in Taplejung municipality-8 along the Mechi Highway on Thursday.

Ilam Road Division Office Supervisor Nabin Upreti informed that it will take at least five hours to clear the landslide debris and resume traffic. “Only one machine is being used to clear the landslide,” he said, “We have been able to clear only 40 per cent of the debris.”

Over one and a half dozen vehicles plying through the road have been stranded due to the landslide that occurred 13 kilometres from Taplejung headquarters Fuling.

Meanwhile, the stranded passengers have started walking through the landslide debris in search of food at Sesambu Bazaar, Nangkholyang and Lyangwa.
