Thapa claims procedures were met for AGM, criticises media

The Patan Appellate Court on Tuesday had ordered to put the AGM on hold after four of its officials, who have been against the working ways of the leadership, filed a petition claiming they were not notified about the AGM. Anfa President Ganesh Thapa claimed that the procedures were met according to its statute and ended up critising media.
“There is no point in inviting the officials who are under suspension. We have asked those officials to come up with a clarification for going against the Anfa. They have refused to report to us three times despite our repeated summons and under these circumstances, we cannot invite them,” said Thapa.
Anfa vice-president trio Karma Tsering Sherpa, Bijay Narayan Manandhar and Kishor Rai along with member Pankaj Bikram Nembang have been revolting against the Anfa leadership claiming that Thapa has been running the football governing body with an iron fist and has misappropriated millions of international funds. The petition was filed by Sherpa, Manandhar and Nembang asking to halt the AGM until Thursday.
Anfa had responded to four officials’ revolt by suspending them from any football activities affiliated to it. The officials have been claiming that they have not yet received any formal letter regarding the suspension but Thapa denied it. “We have sent them the suspension letter through email and courier.”
Thapa also had a laugh at the four officials. “Few of our friends are working to sabotage Nepali football but I want to clear it out that just by halting the AGM, they have not won any battle or achieved anything big,” said Thapa criticising media for not giving preferences to few other decisions made by it central committee meeting on Tuesday.
“We have been focused on football and many important decisions were made yesterday (on Tuesday) but the media preferred the AGM issue to them,” said Thapa.
