A passenger bus parked in front of a police station at Bhardaha in Saptari was torched by Madhesi Morcha supporters on Thursday night, according to the police. The bus has been completely destroyed by the fire.
The bus, Na 4 Kha 4266, was being escorted towards its destination when it broke down and was parked in front of the Bhardaha area police office.
DSP Surendra Kherwar said that the protesters poured petrol on the bus, parked just 10 metres away from the police office, and torched it.
Meanwhile, leader of the protesting side claimed to have no hand in the torching of the vehicle. Sanghiya Samajwadi Forum Nepal leader Shambhu Jha said that his people didn’t set fire on the bus kept under police protection.
