‘NRA suspension won’t affect reconstruction works’

At a general assembly of Nangsal Association in Kavre, Pokharel, also the Vice Chairman of National Planning Commission (NPC), said that the NPC, Local Administration Ministry and Urban Development Ministry were working in tandem for the post-reconstruction works. He also informed that preparations were on to replace the ordinance on the formation of the National Reconstruction Authority by a Bill to revive the now suspended body and appointment of its CEO.
Pokharel said that the sluggish reconstruction works will gain pace after the design of the new quake-resistant houses gets formally approved. He also said that it would take a week for the approval of the design. He also said that the quake victims will also receive the Rs 200,000 assistance announced by the government once the construction of quake-proof houses begin.
