The district security committee took the decision to relocate 13 police posts to nearby District Police Office, Armed Police Force base camp and Area Police Office, informed SP Lokendra Bahadur Malla.
The agitating protestors have been targeting police after a protestor was killed when police opened fire at Kalaiya—the district headquarters, during a clash between police and demonstrators last week.
“The protest has gone wild and the open border has also posed threat to us,” said a police officer, adding, “And also learning from the Tikapur incident, we relocated the posts.”
