CA begins final RD of charter process

The process will conclude until the constitution bill is endorsed.
Of the total 56 amendment proposals registered at CA Secretariat, two proposals from CPN-UML’s Janajati lawmakers were withdrawn at the party’s request. Only seven amendment proposals could be tabled on Tuesday.
The voting on amendment proposals gets underway after the top leaders deliver their speech. Only the joint proposal registered by the three big parties Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and UCPN (Maoist) is likely to garner two-thirds of CA votes required for its endorsement.
Most of the proposed amendments are on preamble, citizenship, fundamental rights and duties, state structure and distribution of state power and provisions of the President and Vice President.
