Protester dies in Bhardaha clash, curfew clamped to avert further violence
A person died in a police firing during protests at Bhardaha in Saptari on Wednesday.District Administration Saptari clamped curfew in Bhardaha bazaar from 2 pm on Wednesday till 6 am on Thursday in order to avert further violence, Chief District Officer Birendra Kumar Yadav said.

One, Ram Kisun Raun, 60, of Portaha VDC-1 of the district succumbed to bullet injuries during a clash between United Madhesi Democratic Front (UMDF) and security personnel.
The police had to use 23 tear-gas shells and shoot 10 rounds of bullets in the air to disperse the demonstrators.
The protesters resorted to clamping down the highway stating that the authorities didn’t pay heed to their demands despite 26 days of continuous strike.
Meanwhile, the UMDF protesters have obstructed vehicular movement along the East-West highway in Bhardaha cutting about one dozen trees and placing them in the highway since Tuesday night.
Due to this security personnel are having a hard time to escort vehicles to their designated destinations. Clashes have been taking place at various parts of the district in course of clearing the trees and rocks from the highway.
