The relief materials including rice grain, wheat flour, biscuit, lentil, among other foodstuff as well as tents and blankets are stuffed at the godowns of the District Development Committee and the District Administration Office.
The government had dispatched two truckloads of relief materials to the District Disaster Management Committee three months back. It was meant to be distributed to the affected families following the April 25 devastating Gorkha Earthquake and to the landslide victims at Baiseri.
Asked why the relief materials were not distributed, the Chief District Officer Sagarmani Pathak said this was because most of the rural roads in the district were disrupted due to the landslides triggered by monsoon rain and also the delay in collecting the data of the earthquake affected families in the district.
He said the data on the earthquake-affected collected through the VDC secretaries was not reliable and the district administration was again collecting data and distributing the identity cards. RSS
