Nepalis living in Hong Kong have extended support to a Gorkha-based school that was destroyed in the April 25 earthquake.
The Hong Kong-based Nepalis, united under Rantachok Serofero Hongkong, supported Rs 484,000 to Umamaheshwari Primary School in Semjung VDC of the district. The money was collected from a cultural programme and documentary—Sikshya ko Khoj (search for education) show in Honkong.
The money was handed over to Shovakanta Devkota, Principal of the school, by Jeevan Bhattarai the director of the documentary amid a programme in Hong Kong on Wednesday.
After the devastating earthquake destroyed the school the students are forced to study in open. Devkota said the money will be used to in reconstructing the destroyed building.
